The Indian Army has established the <\/span>Quantum Lab and a Centre for Artificial Intelligence(AI) at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, Mhow(MP).<\/span><\/p>\n

About Quantum Lab<\/b><\/h5>\n

The lab has been established by the Indian Army with the support of the National Security Council Secretariat(NSCS).<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose:<\/b> To conduct research and training in the <\/span>Quantum Technology<\/span><\/a> field.<\/span><\/p>\n

The key thrust areas are<\/b>\u00a0Quantum Key Distribution,<\/span><\/a> Quantum Communication, <\/span>Quantum Computing<\/span><\/a> and Post Quantum Cryptography.<\/span><\/p>\n

Significance:<\/b> The research undertaken by the Indian Army in the field of Quantum Technology will help leapfrog into next-generation communication and transform the current system of cryptography in the Indian Armed Forces to Post Quantum Cryptography(PQC).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Note:<\/b> Post-quantum cryptography typically refers to public-key cryptography methods that are designed to be resistant to quantum computer-based attacks.<\/span><\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
What is Public Key Cryptography?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Public-key cryptography also called asymmetric cryptography is communication where people exchange messages that can only be read by one another.<\/span><\/p>\n

In public-key cryptography, each user has a pair of cryptographic keys: a public key and a private key<\/span><\/p>\n

The private key is kept secret, while the public key may be widely distributed and used by other users.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Incoming messages are encrypted with the <\/span>recipient’s public key<\/span><\/i> and can only be decrypted with their corresponding private key.<\/span><\/p>\n
