Smart Cities Mission,<\/a><\/strong> Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA) has launched the \u201cSmart Cities and Academia Towards Action & Research (SAAR)\u201d Program.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the Smart Cities and Academia Towards Action & Research(SAAR) Program?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Launched by:<\/b> It is a joint initiative of MoHUA, National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and leading Indian academic institutions of the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the program, <\/b>15 premier architecture & planning institutes of the country<\/span> will be working with Smart Cities <\/b>to document landmark projects undertaken by the Smart Cities Mission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The documents<\/span> will capture the learnings from best practices,<\/b> provide opportunities for engagement on urban development projects to students, and enable real-time information flow between urban practitioners and academia.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the first activity under the SAAR Program?<\/b><\/h5>\n

The first activity envisaged under SAAR is to <\/span>prepare a compendium of 75 landmark urban projects in India under the Smart City Mission.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The compendium <\/span>will act as the first point of reference for future research in the field<\/b> and will help disseminate learnings from projects under the Mission. It will also <\/span>act as a repository for Urban Projects <\/b>and contribute to the dissemination of best practices and peer-to-peer learning.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
