The Government of India is planning to take several steps to transition towards clean energy.<\/span><\/p>\n Firstly,<\/em> Clean Cooking Mission: <\/b>Under this mission, the Government of India <\/span>is exploring a hybrid model to leverage the roof-top solar energy for cooking.<\/span><\/p>\n The plan may also comprise in-house battery infrastructure for energy storage to provide uninterrupted electricity to around 250 million households.<\/span><\/p>\n Benefits of this proposed mission: <\/b>a)<\/strong> It will reduce imports of costly fossil fuels b)<\/strong> add heft to India\u2019s green energy credentials and c)<\/strong> help create demand for a solar equipment manufacturing ecosystem for ingots, wafers, cells and modules.<\/span><\/p>\n Secondly,<\/em> <\/b>the Government of India may waive the \u20b9400 per tonne cess on coal used by power projects that meet certain emission norms.<\/span><\/p>\n Thirdly,<\/b><\/em> the Government is planning to launch a Roadmap for Sustainable and Holistic Approach through National Energy Efficiency<\/strong> (ROSHNEE) scheme.
