The Union Environment Minister has addressed the <\/span>Fourth Asia Ministerial Conference on Tiger Conservation.<\/span><\/p>\n It was organised by the <\/span>Government of Malaysia and the <\/span>Global Tiger Forum(GTF).<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n At the conference, the 13 Tiger Range Countries(TRC) <\/span>adopted the Kuala Lumpur Joint Statement on Tiger Conservation, which emphasised joint commitments towards tiger conservation.<\/span><\/p>\n Note:<\/b> The 13 <\/span>Tiger Range Countries(TRC) <\/span>consist of Malaysia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam.<\/span><\/p>\n Firstly, <\/b>India will facilitate Tiger Range Countries towards the finalisation of the New Delhi declaration<\/strong> for the Global Tiger Summit to be held at Vladivostok, Russia.<\/span><\/p>\n Note:<\/b> A \u201cPre-Tiger Summit\u201d meeting was held at New Delhi in 2010, wherein the draft declaration on tiger conservation for the Global Tiger Summit was finalised.<\/span><\/p>\n Secondly<\/b>, the minister highlighted the achievements of India in Tiger Conservation:<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 <\/span>India has achieved a remarkable feat by doubling the tiger population four years ahead of its goal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Conservation Assured |Tiger Standards (CA|TS) accreditation has already been awarded to 14 tiger reserves in India.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 India\u2019s success with the tiger relocation could be replicated elsewhere. It has successfully translocated a tiger in the western part of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve.
