Government<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b>has decided to place a statue of Subash Chandra Bose at India Gate. occupying a prominent place in the upcoming administrative complex<\/span>\u00a0will serve as a daily reminder of Bose\u2019s core political beliefs to citizens.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What were the basic political ideas that Subash Chandra Bose believed in?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was attracted to\u00a0<\/span>military discipline<\/span><\/b>. At the 1928 session of the Indian National Congress in Calcutta, he\u00a0organised\u00a0a display replete with military pageantry, dressing up in the uniform of a senior officer in the British army<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was\u00a0<\/span>non-communal and deeply secular<\/span><\/b>. He appointed many Muslims to senior positions in the Indian National Army (INA).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite serious\u00a0<\/span>political differences<\/span><\/b>\u00a0with Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, he accorded them a\u00a0<\/span>lot of respect<\/span><\/b>. He was the\u00a0<\/span>first who referred to Gandhi as Father of the Nation<\/span><\/b>, in a radio speech, and also named two of the four INA regiments by the name\u00a0of Gandhi\u00a0and Nehru.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was\u00a0<\/span>attracted by the ideology of Marxism<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and his ambition for post-independent Indian society was strongly egalitarian.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He also believed in\u00a0<\/span>gender equality<\/span><\/b>. The famed\u00a0<\/span>Rani of Jhansi regiment<\/span><\/b>\u00a0he set up under the aegis of the INA remains a unique experiment in women\u2019s empowerment in Southeast Asia to this day.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
