Scientists used the real-time Quantum Key Distribution(QKD) to conduct hack-proof communications between two places separated by 300 meters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n They created a channel to share secure text, image transmissions and two-way video calling.<\/span><\/p>\n With this demonstration, India i<\/span>s getting ready for satellite based demonstrations of fundamental quantum mechanics experiments as well as quantum communication for future-proof data security.<\/span><\/p>\n What is the Space<\/b> Applications Center (SAC)?<\/b><\/p>\n SAC is one of the major centers of the Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO).<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose<\/b>: It focuses on the design of space-borne instruments for ISRO missions and the development and operationalisation of applications of space technology for societal benefits.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The applications cover<\/b> communication, broadcasting, navigation, disaster monitoring, meteorology, oceanography, environment monitoring and natural resources survey.<\/span><\/p>\n Located in:<\/strong> Ahmedabad, Gujarat<\/p>\n It was founded in 1947 by Dr Vikram Sarabhai. It is a unit of the Department of Space.
