Black Percher was sighted for the first time in the Seshachalam Hill ranges recently.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Black Percher?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Black percher or black ground skimmer (Diplacodes lefebvrii) <\/span>is a species of dragonfly.<\/b><\/p>\n

It belongs to the <\/span>phylum arthropoda,<\/b> class insecta and order odonata.<\/span><\/p>\n

Range:<\/b> It is a <\/span>very widespread and common species in Africa and <\/span>southern Eurasia.<\/span><\/p>\n

In India, <\/b>it has been sighted in forest locations of Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh. But this appears to be its maiden appearance in the Seshachalam ranges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Habitat<\/b>: It is recorded from almost all kinds of well-vegetated freshwater habitats, including seasonal. <\/span>It is also known to move near forest streams.<\/span><\/p>\n

IUCN Status: <\/b>Least Concern<\/span><\/p>\n
