{"id":167437,"date":"2022-02-09T18:53:02","date_gmt":"2022-02-09T13:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=167437"},"modified":"2022-02-09T18:53:02","modified_gmt":"2022-02-09T13:23:02","slug":"niti-aayog-and-usaid-collaborate-to-accelerate-health-innovation-and-entrepreneurship-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/niti-aayog-and-usaid-collaborate-to-accelerate-health-innovation-and-entrepreneurship-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"NITI Aayog and USAID Collaborate to Accelerate Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship in India"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the news?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Atal Innovation Mission (AIM)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, NITI Aayog and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a new partnership under the Sustainable Access to Markets and Resources for Innovative Delivery of Healthcare (SAMRIDH) Initiative.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the SAMRIDH Initiative?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2020, USAID and other stakeholders from the Indian government, academia and the private sector developed the SAMRIDH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> initiative.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The initiative blended finance facility to com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bine public and philanthropic funds with commercial capital to create and rapidly scale market-based health solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><b>Note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Blended finance is an approach towards financing where catalytic funding (e.g., grants and concessional capital) from public and philanthropic sources is utilized to mobilize additional private sector investment to realize social goals and outcomes.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h5><b>How will the collaboration between AIM and USAID help the SAMRIDH Initiative?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The collaboration aims to improve access to affordable and quality healthcare for vulnerable populations in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and rural and tribal regions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will enhance SAMRIDH\u2019s efforts to reach vulnerable populations by using AIM\u2019s expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will also focus on innovations across the healthcare landscape.
