The Vigyan Jyoti programme is being implemented in 100 schools in the country and all the schools are situated in rural areas.<\/span><\/p>\n Nodal Ministry<\/b>: <\/span>Department of Science & Technology\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To address the underrepresentation of women in different fields of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n The scheme envisages <\/b>hand-holding and interventions right from the school level i.e., Class IX and which will continue till the PhD level to encourage girls to pursue a career in underrepresented areas of STEM.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Activities under the scheme: <\/b>Various activities such as science camps, special lectures\/ classes, counselling of students and parents, interaction with role models, tinkering activities, and visits to Knowledge Partners\/ Research Labs are being conducted in order to motivate girls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Implementation Partner: <\/b>Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), an autonomous organization of the Ministry of Education, is the implementation partner of Vigyan Jyoti.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Source<\/b>: This post is based on the article \u201cVigyan Jyoti Scheme\u201d <\/b>published in PIB <\/b>on 10th Feb 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
