Cabinet has approved setting up of a G20 Secretariat to put in place arrangements required for India\u2019s presidency of the prestigious grouping.<\/span><\/p>\n Note:<\/b> India will hold the Presidency of the G20 from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n As per practice, a G20 Secretariat is being established to handle work relating to various aspects of India\u2019s G20 Presidency.<\/span><\/p>\n The secretariat will be handled by officers and staff from the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Finance and other relevant ministries.<\/span><\/p>\n The Secretariat will be functional till February 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n It will be guided by an Apex Committee headed by the Prime Minister and comprising the finance minister, home minister, external affairs minister, and G20 Sherpa (Commerce & Industry Minister).<\/span><\/p>\n Further, a Coordination Committee will also be set up to oversee all G20 preparations and report to the Apex Committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>This post is based on the article \u201cCabinet clears setting up of G20 Secretariat<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in Indian Express <\/b>on 16th Feb 2022<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the news?
