The government has approved the implementation of the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project during the period 2022-23 to 2025-26.<\/span><\/p>\n Nodal Ministry: <\/b>Ministry of Home Affairs<\/span><\/p>\n Type: <\/b>Central Sector Scheme<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose: <\/b>It is a national platform for enabling integration of the main IT system used for the delivery of Criminal Justice in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n Five Pillars of the Project:<\/b> 1)<\/strong> Police (Crime and Criminal Tracking and Network Systems), 2)<\/strong> e-Forensics for Forensic Labs 3)<\/strong> e-Courts for Courts 4)<\/strong> e-Prosecution for Public Prosecutors and, 5)<\/strong> e-Prisons for Prisons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Implementing Agency: <\/b>National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) will be responsible for the implementation of the project in association with the National Informatics Center (NIC).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Under Phase-I of the project<\/b>, individual IT systems have been implemented and stabilized, and also search of records have been enabled on these systems.<\/span><\/p>\n Under Phase-II,<\/b> the system is being built on the principle of \u2018one data one entry\u2019 whereby data is entered only once in one pillar and the same is then available in all other pillars without the need to re-enter the data in each pillar.<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>This post is based on the article \u201c<\/b>Government approves implementation of Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project during the period 2022-23 to 2025-26<\/b>\u201d<\/b> published in PIB <\/b>on 18th Feb 2022<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the news?
