News:\u00a0<\/strong>Ministerial Forum is going to be held in Paris under France\u2019s ongoing presidency of the EU. Foreign affairs ministers from EU member states and 30 Indo-Pacific countries, including India are going to join it.<\/p>\n

What are the focus area of the meeting?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Security and defence : <\/strong>Indo \u2013 Pacific and related issues<\/a><\/p>\n

Connectivity and infrastructure<\/strong>: EU\u2019s Global Gateway initiative<\/strong> aims to address this by pooling the resources of the EU\u2019s institutions and its 27 member states to raise 300 billion euros to build sustainable links<\/p>\n

Strengthening relations: <\/strong>Forum will focus on strengthening connections between Europe and the Indo-Pacific, especially in the air and digital domains. The EU and India have already concluded a Connectivity Partnership<\/strong> to enhance the connectivity.<\/p>\n

Collective Action:\u00a0<\/strong>Forum will focus on tackling the global challenges<\/strong> like climate change, biodiversity protection and health resilience. It will provide support to the countries in terms of green finance, to achieve their ecological transitions in a just manner.<\/p>\n

Health: <\/strong>Forum is going to discuss steps to strengthen health sovereignty and promote the \u201cOne Health<\/strong>\u201d approach to the pandemic response. France will propose the creation of an Indo-Pacific health campus<\/strong>, to be established in India, to bring together India\u2019s pharmaceutical prowess and Europe\u2019s technological capacity for the benefit of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– India joined the France-initiated international High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People<\/a> to protect 30 per cent of the land and seas by 2030.<\/p>\n

– Both countries are collaborated in protected areas and national parks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
