Scientific Name:<\/b> Euphlyctis Jaladhara<\/span><\/p>\n Type:<\/b> It is predominantly a freshwater frog<\/span><\/p>\n Found in: <\/b>The frog was first spotted in freshwater bodies around the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary in Ernakulam and then multiple populations along the western coastal plains from Kerala to Gujarat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This frog species looks similar to the common skittering frog (Euphlyctis\u00a0<\/b>cyanophlyctis) <\/b>which is predominantly distributed in the eastern coastal plains, Deccan\u00a0<\/span>Plateau and the Western Ghats. This species was discovered 220 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n Significance: <\/b>Amphibians like frogs are the living link between vertebrate life in water and land.
