Northern River Terrapin <\/span>(<\/span>Batagur baska<\/span><\/i>) is a species of riverine turtle native to Southeast Asia. <\/span>It is one of Asia’s largest freshwater and breakwater turtles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n IUCN Red List<\/b>: Critically Endangered<\/span><\/p>\n CITES<\/b>: Appendix I<\/span><\/p>\n Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972<\/b>: Schedule I<\/span><\/p>\n Found in: <\/b>The species is currently found in Bangladesh and India(in the Sunderbans), Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia. It is regionally extinct in Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/span><\/p>\n Habitat:<\/b> They spend most of their time in water and only come on land to lay eggs.
