Union Minister of Home Affairs attended the 37th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) as the Chief Guest in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n National Crime Records Bureau(NCRB) was established in 1986. It is an Indian government agency responsible for collecting and analyzing crime data as defined by the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Special and Local Laws(SLL).<\/span><\/p>\n Nodal Ministry: <\/b>Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)<\/span><\/p>\n Headquarters:<\/b> New Delhi<\/span><\/p>\n Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems(CCTNS)<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Reports<\/b>: NCRB brings out three annual reports i.e. Crime in India, Accidental Deaths & Suicides in India and Prison Statistics India. These reports are principal reference points for police officers, researchers, media & policymakers.<\/span><\/p>\n Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) project\u00a0<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Central fingerprint bureau<\/b>:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n The World’s First fingerprint Bureau was set up in Calcutta in 1897. A CFPB was established at Shimla in 1905. However, it was closed in 1922 as a result of the retrenchment proposals of the Inchcape Committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Present CFPB came into existence in 1955 under the administrative control of the Intelligence Bureau at Delhi.
