The Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has launched the \u2018India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Start-up Challenge\u2019 under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation(AMRUT) 2.0<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n AMRUT 2.0 was launched by the Prime Minister in 2021. The mission aims to provide central assistance for universal coverage in water supply in all statutory towns, upscaling coverage of sewerage and septage management in 500 AMRUT cities, rejuvenation of water bodies and creation of green spaces.<\/span><\/p>\n Besides this, the mission also envisages the identification of innovative, proven and potential environment-friendly technologies in the fields of water & used water treatment, distribution and water body rejuvenation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To achieve this above goal, this challenge was launched.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim: <\/b>To empower startups in the water\/ used-water sector to grow through innovation and design that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate employment opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Thematic areas: <\/b>The start-ups providing innovative technological\/ business solutions in the following areas are eligible to participate: 1) Freshwater systems, 2) Hydro informatics \u2013 use of water + data, 3) Used water management, 4) Urban Water Management, 5) Agricultural Water Management, 6) Urban Sewerage Management, 7) Water governance, and 8) Innovation in conventional taps and plumbing systems.<\/span><\/p>\n Eligibility Criteria:<\/b> All entities recognised as start-ups by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) are eligible to participate<\/span><\/p>\n Prize<\/b>: The 100 final selected start-ups in the Challenge will be given a grant amounting to a maximum of Rs. 20 lakh.
