The Prime Minister of Japan has made an official visit to India for the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key highlights from the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit?<\/b><\/h5>\n

India and Japan:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2013 Reaffirmed <\/span>the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Welcomed the holding of the first 2+2 meeting of their Foreign and Defence Ministers in 2019 in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Japanese PM \u200b\u200bwelcomed the Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI) announced by the Indian Prime Minister in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Condemned North Korea\u2019s destabilizing ballistic missile launches in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions(UNSCRs).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Reaffirmed the importance of UNSCR 2593(2021) which unequivocally demands that Afghan territory not be used for sheltering, training, planning or financing terrorist acts.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The two countries expressed their serious concern about the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and assessed its broader implications, particularly to the Indo-Pacific region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Expressed satisfaction on the progress in the flagship bilateral cooperation project of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR)<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agreements signed<\/b><\/h5>\n

India and Japan exchanged six agreements on<\/b>\u00a0Cybersecurity, Economic partnerships,\u00a0<\/span>Wastewater management, Urban development, Clean energy partnership and an <\/span>Agreement on promoting bamboo-based products from the northeast region.<\/span><\/p>\n

Note: <\/b>Clean Energy Partnership(CEP) was launched for cooperation towards achieving sustainable economic growth, addressing climate change and ensuring energy security.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
