The Minister of State for Education has informed Lok Sabha about the <\/span>Nav Bharat Literacy Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n Nodal Ministry:<\/b> Ministry of Education<\/span><\/p>\n Type: <\/b>Centrally Sponsored Scheme<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To support the States and Union Territories in promoting literacy among non-literates in the age group of 15 and above across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n Target:<\/b> The scheme aims to cover 5 crore non-literates during the implementation period from 2022-23 to 2026-27.<\/span><\/p>\n Components:<\/b> The scheme has five components namely 1)<\/strong> Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, 2)<\/strong> Critical Life Skills 3)<\/strong> Vocational Skills Development, 4)<\/strong> Basic Education and 5)<\/strong> Continuing Education.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Involvement of school students, pre-service students of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), school teachers, Anganwadi and ASHA workers,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 School to be unit for implementation of the scheme,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Use of ICT and online implementation of the scheme through \u2018Online Teaching Learning and Assessment System\u2019 (OTLAS),<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Providing material and resources through digital modes, viz, TV, radio, cell phone-based free\/open-source Apps\/portals, etc,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Assessment tests to be conducted in schools by State\/UTs and evaluation of learners by NIOS\/SIOS,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Sample achievement survey and Online Management Information Systems (MIS).<\/span><\/p>\n Source<\/b>: The post is based on an article \u201cNav Bharat Literacy Programme<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in PIB <\/b>on 21st March 2022<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
