News<\/span><\/b>: The Chinese Foreign Minister attacked QUAD members. <\/span><\/p>\n

He mentioned that \u201cNo country should pursue its so-called absolute security at the expense of other countries\u2019 security<\/em>\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

He stated this in wake of Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narender Modi\u2019s summit-level meetings with the prime ministers of Japan and Australia.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Accusation made by China on the west<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n

China referred to the present situation in Ukraine and claimed that the present situation is the result of \u201cthe \u202f<\/span>NATO <\/span>strategy of eastward expansion\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, China has caused several provocations in the Indo-Pacific. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why the accusations of China are wrong?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n

In reality, China has itself become assertive in the Indo-Pacific region. It is asserting at the \u201cexpense of other countries\u2019 security\u201d.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The US forces and its allies have been present in the <\/span>Indo-Pacific region<\/span><\/b> since the end of the Second World War.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, the Quad is not a military alliance<\/strong>. It is not like NATO. In fact, It is a response to assertive nature of China in the Indo-Pacific region. For example, China is occupying islands and trying to control sea lanes in the Indo-Pacific. It is also carrying out activities along the Line of Actual Control (LAC)\u202fwith India.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both, <\/span>China<\/span><\/b> and Russia have entered into a \u201c<\/span>no-limits\u201d partnership<\/span><\/b>. They have effectively created an alliance in which they would back each other\u2019s plans in <\/span>Ukraine<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>Taiwan<\/span><\/b>. In other words, China is doing what it is accusing the West in the Indo-Pacific.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the way forward?<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n

Both India and Japan have rightly deepened their <\/span>bilateral economic cooperation<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>strategic convergence<\/span><\/b>. For example, Japan will invest about <\/span>$4.2 billion<\/span><\/b> over five years<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Australia is likely to unveil new projects and investments in India.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India should hold diplomatic engagements with Beijing<\/strong>. In fact, India has stated its stand that the Chinese activities on its borders or in the Indo-Pacific thwarts the smoothening of India-China relationship.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
