Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare has informed Rajya Sabha about the National <\/span>Drug De-Addiction Programme (DDAP)\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n Note<\/strong>: Article 47 <\/strong>of the Constitution says that the state shall endeavour to bring about prohibition of the consumption of intoxicating drinks and drugs which are injurious to health.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Operated by<\/strong>:\u00a0Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim<\/strong>: a)<\/strong> To provide affordable, easily accessible and evidence-based treatment for all substance use disorders through the government health care facilities, b)<\/strong> To build the capacities of health care staff in recognition and management of substance use disorders.<\/span><\/p>\n Implementing agencies<\/strong>: AIIMS, New Delhi; PGIMER, Chandigarh; NIMHANS, Bengaluru among others.\u200b\u200b<\/span><\/p>\n National \/ Nodal centre:<\/strong> National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre(NDDTC), AIIMS.<\/span><\/p>\n National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction(NAPDDR)<\/b><\/a>: <\/b>It is being implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE).<\/span><\/p>\n Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan(NMBA)<\/b><\/a>: It is being implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE).<\/span><\/p>\n Establishing and Implementing Capacity Building Mechanism for Addiction Treatment Facilities in India: <\/b>It is a project being implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) through \u200b\u200bNational Drug Dependence Treatment Centre(NDDTC),AIIMS.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Under the project, from 2021, 5-day training workshops are organised for staff of various Government run\/supported\/funded facilities established for treatment of drug addiction in the Country.<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>This post is based on an article<\/span> \u201c<\/b>DE-ADDICTION PROGRAMME<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in<\/span> PIB <\/b>on 22nd March 2022<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
