The Union <\/span>Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change has <\/span>chaired<\/span> the 67<\/span>th<\/span> meeting of the<\/span> Standing Committee of the National Board for Wild Life.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n October 5 as National <\/b>Dolphin<\/b><\/a> Day: <\/b>The committee <\/span>has recommended celebrating October 5th as National Dolphin Day every year as a historic step in creating awareness for the conservation of Dolphins.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n October 5 is currently celebrated as ‘<\/b>Ganga River Dolphin<\/b><\/a> Day’,<\/b> but its re-designation as a National Day for Dolphin will encompass all rivers and oceans’ Dolphins beyond the Gangetic ones.<\/span><\/p>\n Dolphins act as ideal ecological indicators of a healthy aquatic ecosystem.
