The Union Minister of Science & Technology has informed Rajya Sabha about the EOS-02 and EOS-03 satellites.<\/span><\/p>\n EOS-02<\/b> is a planned Earth observation satellite being developed by the ISRO as a test payload for the maiden launch of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV).<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose: <\/b>The satellite is intended for <\/span>applications that include agriculture, forestry, geology, hydrology, and miniaturized power electronics among others.<\/span><\/p>\n Launch Date: <\/b>The satellite will be launched in the second quarter of 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n EOS-03 is the First Agile Earth Observation satellite in Geostationary orbit. It was launched from the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F10(GSLV-F10).<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose: <\/b>It was intended for applications that include near real-time imaging, quick monitoring of natural disasters, spectral signatures for agriculture, forestry etc.<\/span><\/p>\n However, ISRO\u2019s attempt to put the EOS-03 satellite using GSLV-F10 into orbit failed due to an anomaly in the Cryogenic Upper Stage.<\/span><\/p>\n EOS-01: <\/b>It was launched in 2020.
