The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting<\/span> has constituted the Animation<\/span>, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics(AVGC) Promotion Task Force.<\/span><\/p>\n The Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comic(AVGC) sector in India has the potential to become the torchbearer of \u201cCreate in India\u201d & \u201cBrand India\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n India has the potential to capture 5% (~$40 billion) of the global market share by the year 2025, with an annual growth of around 25-30% and creating over 1,60,000 new jobs annually.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To further unleash the scope of AVGC sector, an announcement was made in the Union Budget 2022-23 for setting up an Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics(AVGC) Promotion Task Force.<\/span><\/p>\n Headed by: <\/b>Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Members: <\/b>It will have Secretaries of the Ministry<\/span> of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; the Ministry of Education; the <\/span>Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology <\/span>and the <\/span>Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 The task force<\/span> will also have widespread participation from Industry partners. <\/span>It will also include <\/span>State Governments of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana; heads of education bodies such as AICTE, NCERT and representatives of industry bodies such as FICCI, CII.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0It includes the following:<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Framing of a national AVGC policy,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Recommend national curriculum framework for Graduation, Postgraduate and Doctoral courses in AVGC related sectors,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Facilitate skilling initiatives in collaboration with academic institutions, vocational training centres & Industry,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Boost employment opportunities,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Facilitate promotion and market development activities to extend the global reach of the Indian AVGC Industry,<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 Enhance exports and recommend incentives to attract FDI in the AVGC sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>This post is based on the articles:<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/b>Ministry of I&B Constitutes Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) Promotion Task Force<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in <\/span>PIB <\/b>on<\/span> 8th April 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cCentre sets up task force to promote animation, gaming\u201d <\/b>published in <\/span>The Hindu <\/b>on<\/span> 9th April 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
