{"id":178867,"date":"2022-04-12T19:55:51","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T14:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=178867"},"modified":"2022-04-12T19:55:51","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T14:25:51","slug":"cbic-chairman-releases-national-time-release-study-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/cbic-chairman-releases-national-time-release-study-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"CBIC Chairman releases National Time Release Study, 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs(CBIC) has released Time Release Study (TRS) 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About Time Release Study(TRS)<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>About TRS:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> TRS is essentially a performance measurement tool for assessing the cargo clearance process of international trade, as recommended by the WTO under the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/trade-facilitation-agreement\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trade Facilitation Agreement(TFA) <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and the World Customs Organization(WCO).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Method Adopted: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The study measures average cargo release time, i.e. the time taken from the arrival of the cargo at the customs station to its eventual release for import or export as the case may be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ports Covered:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The TRS 2022 covered four-port categories &#8211; <\/span><b>1) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seaports, <\/span><b>2) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">air cargo complexes (ACCs), <\/span><b>3)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inland container depot (ICDs) and <\/span><b>4)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> integrated check posts (ICPs). These ports handle about 80% of the bills of entry (import documents) and 70% of the shipping bills (export documents).<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What are the key findings of TRS 2022?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There has been an improvement in the average cargo release time for all the four-port categories in 2022 over the corresponding period of 2021. For instance, the average import release time has improved by 16% at ACCs, 12% in the case of seaports and ICDs and 2% in ICPs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this improvement, the ICPs have achieved the National Trade Facilitation Action Plan (NTFAP) target release time to be achieved by 2023 whereas the other three-port categories have reached 75% of NTFAP target.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>CBIC Chairman releases National Time Release Study, 2022<\/b><b>\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published in <\/span><b>PIB <\/b>on<b> 11th April 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the News?
