The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways(MORT&H) has released the National Highways Precast Concrete Policy.<\/span><\/p>\n Precast concrete is reinforced concrete that is cast away from the building site and assembled on site.<\/span><\/p>\n Advantages of Precast Concrete: 1) <\/b>All-weather and fast construction, <\/span>2) <\/b>Reliable quality & enhanced performance durability, <\/span>3) <\/b>Minimum user time delay and <\/span>4) <\/b>Reduced carbon emission\/reduced noise & air pollution due to reduced construction activities at the site.<\/span><\/p>\n The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways(MORT&H) has made it mandatory to use factory-manufactured precast concrete elements in projects within a 100 km radius of the Precast factory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The minimum mandatory usage should be 25% of total concrete volume other than the foundations & sub-structures of Bridges.<\/span><\/p>\n To s<\/span>tart with, the Quality Council of India(QCI) will be responsible for certifying the precast concrete factories.
