He was <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">often venerated as the <\/span><b>\u2018Protector of Humanity\u2019 (Srisht-di-Chadar) <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the Sikhs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was a learned spiritual scholar and a poet whose 115 hymns are included in <\/span><b><i>Sri Guru Granth Sahib<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the main text of Sikhism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was also an avid traveller and played a key role in setting up preaching centers.
