The Prime Minister will participate in the celebrations of the 400th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Red Fort in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n B<\/strong>orn in: Amritsar <\/b>in 1621 to Mata Nanki and Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh guru.<\/span><\/p>\n He was<\/span> the ninth of ten <\/span>Gurus<\/span> who founded the <\/span>Sikh religion<\/span>. He was <\/span>often venerated as the <\/span>\u2018Protector of Humanity\u2019 (Srisht-di-Chadar) <\/b>by the Sikhs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He was a learned spiritual scholar and a poet whose 115 hymns are included in <\/span>Sri Guru Granth Sahib<\/i><\/b>,<\/span><\/i> the main text of Sikhism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He was also an avid traveller and played a key role in setting up preaching centers.
