What are the geopolitical and other challenges in front of the international community?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n

Russia has launched an unprovoked war against Ukraine. It is a war against Ukraine\u2019s existence as a <\/span>free<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>independent countr<\/span><\/b>y.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Russia wants to correct what he sees as the greatest <\/span>geo-political disaster<\/span><\/b> of the last century. It aims to restore <\/span>Greater Russia<\/span><\/b>. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is a step in that direction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

China has grown itself based on <\/span>China-centred globalisation<\/span><\/b> over the past couple of decades. It has started asserting itself. It may endanger<\/span> the<\/span> free, and safer world order<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ongoing saga in Ukraine will boost the <\/span>morale<\/span><\/b> of China. China would be inspired to take <\/span>Taiwan<\/span><\/b>. China wants to become the <\/span>world\u2019s top country<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, Beijing and Moscow have minted a \u201c<\/span>no limits\u201d partnership<\/span><\/b>. This is going to be the <\/span>greatest geopolitical threat<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How can India leverage the opportunities presented by the global geopolitics today?<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n

India is a member of <\/span>Quad<\/span><\/b>. The group has been organized to resist <\/span>Chinese aggression<\/span><\/b>. And Australia is the key member in this pursuit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a need to reduce dependence<\/strong> on China. It could threaten the national security.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India has the opportunity to substitute China. India can become a <\/span>trustworthy trade partner<\/span><\/b> with fellow democracies. The <\/span>Australia-India trade deal<\/span><\/b> can play a major role in this direction.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India should extend the <\/span>\u201cmake in India\u201d campaign<\/span><\/b> to all the consumer lines and the intermediate goods currently made in China. The Indian economy is a vibrant <\/span>free market, has a<\/span><\/b> booming <\/span>tech sector, and<\/span><\/b> a large population base to support the economic activities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Countries like India having <\/span>democratic values<\/span><\/b> in common can promote <\/span>free and fair trad<\/span><\/b>e across the world.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India gained its freedom through <\/span>moral suasion <\/span><\/b>and <\/span>peaceful protest<\/span><\/b>, through satyagraha. After <\/span>75 years of independence<\/span><\/b>, India does not have to be anyone\u2019s junior partner in the international community. India can act as the leader of the free world. India should support <\/span>free countries<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>free people.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

India shares <\/span>traditional friendship <\/span><\/b>with Russia. It has earned <\/span>palpable goodwill <\/span><\/b>among the ordinary Russians. Therefore, India is uniquely placed to exercise<\/span> moral leadership <\/span><\/b>and<\/span> appeal to Russian leadership.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Way forward<\/h5>\n

As per Ex-Australian PM, India has emerged as a democratic superpower, and can provide much needed leadership to the world at present.<\/span><\/p>\n
