The Ministry of Culture has granted Rs 3.75 crore under the \u2018Upgradation of Museums Scheme\u2019 as part of the <\/span>Museums Grant Scheme<\/b> for the Rs 5-crore project in Eluru town, Andhra Pradesh.<\/span><\/p>\n Launched by: <\/b>Ministry of Culture in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim: <\/b>To strengthen and modernize the existing museums at the Regional, State and District levels.<\/span><\/p>\n \u2013 To develop at least 1 Central \/ State Government Museum located in the State Capital each year.<\/span><\/p>\n Under the scheme, <\/b>financial assistance is provided to State Governments and Societies, Autonomous bodies, Local Bodies and Trusts registered under the Societies Act 1860 for setting up new Museums.<\/span><\/p>\n Establishment and Development of District and Regional Museums: <\/b>Under this component, museums have been classified into two categories:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Category-I:<\/b> Government-owned State level Museums and renowned Museums with exquisite collections and <\/span>Category-II:<\/b> all other Museums.<\/span><\/p>\n The maximum amount of financial assistance provided under this Component is limited to Rs.10 crore.<\/span><\/p>\n Development of Museums in State Capitals: <\/b>Financial assistance under this component is provided to existing renowned museums of the Central or State Government located in the Capital cities.<\/span><\/p>\n The maximum financial assistance under this component is limited to Rs. 15 Crore per museum.<\/span><\/p>\n Establishment and Development of Large-Scale Museums in Public-Private Partnership Mode: <\/b>Under this component, it is proposed to establish large scale museums as joint ventures with State Governments and civil society in the Public-Private partnerships Mode.<\/span><\/p>\n The maximum financial assistance provided under this component is 40% of the project cost subject to a maximum of Rs. 20 Crore per museum.<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>The post is based on the article <\/span>\u201c<\/b>Andhra Pradesh: Archaeology museum at Eluru to display 400 artifacts from early historic period<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in <\/span>The Hindu <\/b>on<\/span> 27th April 2022.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
