{"id":182875,"date":"2022-05-05T21:07:18","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T15:37:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=182875"},"modified":"2022-05-05T21:07:18","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T15:37:18","slug":"pm-addresses-inaugural-session-of-fourth-edition-of-the-international-conference-on-disaster-resilient-infrastructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/pm-addresses-inaugural-session-of-fourth-edition-of-the-international-conference-on-disaster-resilient-infrastructure\/","title":{"rendered":"PM addresses inaugural session of fourth edition of the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prime Minister addressed the inaugural session of the fourth edition of the <strong>International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure(ICDRI)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is ICDRI?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Hosted by:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Purpose: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To explore ways to strengthen the resilience of transitioning infrastructure systems, with an emphasis on human-centred approaches.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the Conference<\/b><b> on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure(CDRI)?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>CDRI is a multi-stakeholder global partnership<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of national governments, UN agencies and programmes, multilateral development banks, the private sector, and academic and knowledge institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Launched by: <\/b>The <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian Prime Minister <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit in September 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Led by<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: CDRI is led and managed by national governments, where knowledge is generated and exchanged on different aspects of disaster resilience of infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Secretariat: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New Delhi, India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Members:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> As of March 2021, 29 members consisting of 22 national governments and 7 organizations have joined CDRI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Significance:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CDRI is the second major coalition launched by India outside of the UN, the first being the <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/united-nations-grants-observer-status-to-international-solar-alliance-in-a-historic-decision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Solar Alliance<\/a>.
