The Gossamer Rings are outside the main Jovian ring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Amalthea is tidally locked to Jupiter in synchronous rotation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 it always aligns with the planet along its long axis.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Major missions to Amalthea<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only two missions have visited Amalthea: <\/span><b>Voyager and Galileo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
