They have similar masses, sizes and atmospheric compositions. Due to this, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uranus&#8217;s atmosphere has a lighter appearance than Neptune&#8217;s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Without this haze in either planetary atmosphere, astronomers believe both planets would be almost identically blue.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Why is the haze thicker on Uranus?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">three aerosol layers in the atmospheres of Neptune and Uranus.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The key layer that affects the colours is the middle layer.
