The Union Health Minister has released the 4th State Food Safety Index.<\/span><\/p>\n Started in: <\/b>2018-19<\/span><\/p>\n Prepared by: <\/b>Food Safety and Standards Authority of India(FSSAI)<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To measure the performance of states on parameters of Food Safety <\/span>with the aim of creating a competitive and positive change in India\u2019s food safety ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n Parameters: <\/b>The five parameters include: 1) <\/span>Compliance, 2) Human Resources and Institutional Data, 3) Food Testing \u2013 Infrastructure and Surveillance, 4) Training & Capacity Building and 5) Consumer Empowerment.<\/span><\/p>\n Significance<\/b>: <\/span>The Index is a dynamic quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model that provides an objective framework for evaluating food safety across all States\/UTs.<\/span><\/p>\n Larger States:<\/b> Tamil Nadu has topped followed by Gujarat and Maharashtra.<\/span><\/p>\n Smaller States:<\/b> Goa stood first followed by Manipur and Sikkim.<\/span><\/p>\n Union territories: <\/b>Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Chandigarh secured first, second and third rank respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n AyurvedaAahar logo:\u00a0<\/b>It is a logo which contains the initials of Ayurveda and Ahara, the first in Devanagari and the second in English with five leaves symbolizing five elements of nature. <\/span>This logo will help in the easy identification of ayurvedic foods.<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>The post is based on the article <\/span>\u201cTamil Nadu tops food safety index<\/b>\u201d<\/b> published in <\/span>The Hindu <\/b>on 8th June 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
