The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal for the signing of an agreement between the Government of India and the United Nations on a \u2018Way Finding Application\u2019 to be used in the Palais des Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva(UNOG).<\/span><\/p>\n UNOG is located at<\/span> Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose<\/b>: It serves as the representative office of the Secretary-General in Geneva.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Significance<\/b>: It is the biggest department of the United Nations Secretariat outside of headquarters in New York.<\/span><\/p>\n UNOG consists of five buildings and 21 floors. A large number of delegates visit UNOG to participate in various meetings and conventions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Keeping in view the complexity of buildings and huge participation, there was a requirement for a navigational application which can help the visitors in finding their way inside the premises.<\/span><\/p>\n India has taken up the project to develop a \u2018Way Finding Application\u2019. The app will facilitate navigation on the premises of UNOG.<\/span><\/p>\n It will enable users to find their way from point to point within the 21 floors spread across five buildings of UNOG.
