Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent unit of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) <\/span>has been awarded <\/span>the UNESCO\u2019s King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize.<\/span><\/p>\n CIET has been awarded by UNESCO for use of ICT in Education under a comprehensive initiative called PM eVIDYA.<\/span><\/p>\n What is PM eVIDYA?<\/b><\/p>\n Launched in: <\/b>2020 by the Ministry of Education<\/span><\/p>\n Purpose:<\/b> It is a<\/span> comprehensive initiative which unifies all efforts related to digital\/online\/on-air education to enable multimode access to education.<\/span><\/p>\n CIET is a constituent unit of the <\/span>National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).<\/b><\/p>\n Established in:<\/b> 1984 with the merger of the Center for Educational Technology(CET) and the Department of Teaching Aids(DTA).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To promote utilization of educational technologies viz. radio, TV, films, Satellite communications and cyber media either separately or in combinations.<\/span><\/p>\n Established in: <\/b>2005 by UNESCO with the support of the Kingdom of Bahrain.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim: <\/b>To reward individuals and organizations that are implementing outstanding projects and promoting the creative use of technologies to enhance learning, teaching and overall educational performance in the digital age.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>The post is based on the article <\/span>\u201c<\/b>Use of ICT in school education in India receives UNESCO\u2019s recognition<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in <\/span>PIB <\/b>on 19th June 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
