{"id":191562,"date":"2022-06-21T21:15:17","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T15:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=191562"},"modified":"2022-06-21T21:15:17","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T15:45:17","slug":"sleep-organisation-stabilizes-among-vipassana-meditation-practitioners-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/sleep-organisation-stabilizes-among-vipassana-meditation-practitioners-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Sleep organisation stabilizes among vipassana meditation practitioners: study"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Researchers have found that practitioners of meditation have better sleep as compared to those who do not practice meditation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What are the sleep disorders?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sleep disorders are a group of conditions that affect the ability to sleep well on a regular basis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the commonly found sleep disorders are insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, hypersomnia, narcolepsy and shift work disorder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In India, over 93% of our population is affected by sleep deprivation or disorders.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the purpose of this study?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frequent sleep transitions (from higher deep sleep to lighter sleep) are seen in sleep disorders, and with age, these transitions increase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traditionally, meditation has been recommended as a solution for sleep disorders. However, scientific evidence on the relationship between meditation and sleep disorders was lacking.
