India’s GSAT-24 satellite was successfully <\/span>placed into the geostationary orbit<\/span> by French company Ariane space on its Ariane 5 space launch vehicle from Kourou in French Guiana in South America.<\/span><\/p>\n GSAT-24 is a 24-Ku band <\/span>communication satellite.<\/b><\/p>\n Purpose<\/b>: The satellite will provide high-quality television, telecommunications, and broadcasting services and will meet the DTH needs of Indian customers.<\/span><\/p>\n Built by: <\/b>Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO) for <\/span>New Space India Limited(NSIL).<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Weight<\/b>: 4180 kg\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Significance<\/b>: It is the first “demand-driven” communication satellite mission undertaken by NSIL post space sector reforms.
