It eliminated the constitutional right to abortion.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Implications of the US Judgement<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Globally<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It will strengthen the feeling that women\u2019s rights that are decades in the making can disappear overnight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The US<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the level of US healthcare, around half the states would be expected to ban all or most abortions.<\/p>\n<p>In political terms, it is a success story for the <strong>conservative movement<\/strong>. But this is a serious setback for the movement for women\u2019s bodily autonomy, and their right to make decisions about themselves.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>History of Abortion Rights in the US<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>American women won the right to abortion about half a century ago.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>The Way Forward<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>In the future, the government can come up with a <strong>legislative fightback <\/strong>against the court\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>The overall trend of <strong>liberalizing abortion laws<\/strong> from developed to developing countries should not be impacted.
