National Institute of Urban Affairs\u2019 (NIUA) Climate Centre for Cities (NIUA C-Cube), World Resources Institute India(WRI India) and their partners has launched <\/span>India Forum for Nature-Based Solutions.<\/b><\/p>\n It is <\/span>India\u2019s first national coalition platform for urban nature-based solutions(NbS).<\/span><\/p>\n Aim:<\/b> To <\/span>create a collective of NbS entrepreneurs, government entities and like-minded organizations to help scale urban nature-based solutions by:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n -Defining a shared language and by communicating benefits that inform actions at the local level including scaling up of existing NbS interventions.<\/span><\/p>\n -Driving investment and strengthening delivery mechanisms through multi-stakeholder coordination.<\/span><\/p>\n -Mainstreaming urban ecosystem-based services and nature-based solutions in India through informing policy, plans and project interventions.<\/span><\/p>\n Led by: <\/b>National Institute of Urban Affairs\u2019 Climate Centre for Cities(NIUA C-Cube) and anchored by World Resources Institute India (WRI Indija) under the Cities4Forests initiative.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Supported by:<\/b> Caterpillar Foundation, Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Govt. of the United Kingdom and Norway\u2019s International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI).<\/span><\/p>\n Cities4Forests is a voluntary coalition of more than 60 cities from around the world involving mayors\u2019 offices and other city agencies such as public water utilities and offices of sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n Aim: <\/b>To support cities around the world to recognize their interdependence with the world\u2019s forests, and use their own political, economic, and cultural power to ensure forest health and vitality.<\/span><\/p>\n Source: <\/b>The post is based on the article<\/span> \u201c<\/b>NIUA\u2019s C-Cube and WRI India launch the India Forum for Nature-Based Solutions<\/b>\u201d <\/b>published in<\/span> PIB <\/b>on 29th June 2022<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is the News?
