Therefore, due to such deviations, there is a need to look into the status of <strong>India\u2019s health care system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Adequacy in health care in India<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>A number of studies have documented notable healthcare success in India. For example, the case of polio eradication.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shortcomings in health care in India.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthcare Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>India has failed to create adequate <strong>public<\/strong> and <strong>private health facilities<\/strong> across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>private health care services <\/strong>are <strong>non-affordable<\/strong> to less affluent sections of society. For example, it is difficult for a privately employed, earning around Rs 30,000 a month.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>publicly-owned medical facilities<\/strong>, hospitalization is a time taking process, except for <strong>emergencies<\/strong> that arise due to road or other accidents. For instance, the waiting period for a <strong>hysterectomy operation<\/strong> in a government hospital is usually eight to nine months.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Indian private hospitals<\/strong>, there is a lack of <strong>sufficiently professional diagnoses. In fact, experts\u2019 advice<\/strong> is largely driven by profit-making. <strong>For example,<\/strong> where a blockage in one of the heart arteries has been found in routine diagnosis, the cardiologist generally advises <strong>angioplasty<\/strong>, including installing <strong>one or more stents<\/strong> in addition to <strong>statin<\/strong> and <strong>blood thinner medication. <\/strong>However, as per a <strong>2020 study by the US National Institute of Health<\/strong>, \u201cthere is no need for invasive procedures (read stents) in patients without symptoms\u201d. It is safe to begin treating the problem with<strong> medication and lifestyle change.<\/strong> If <strong>symptoms persist<\/strong>, then <strong>invasive treatment options<\/strong> can be discussed.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Health Insurances<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The health insurance coverages provided in India are highly restrictive in nature.
