{"id":195095,"date":"2022-07-11T19:12:58","date_gmt":"2022-07-11T13:42:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=195095"},"modified":"2022-07-11T19:12:58","modified_gmt":"2022-07-11T13:42:58","slug":"union-minister-inaugurates-indias-first-ever-animal-health-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/union-minister-inaugurates-indias-first-ever-animal-health-summit\/","title":{"rendered":"Union Minister inaugurates India\u2019s first ever Animal Health Summit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article <\/span><b>\u201c<\/b><b>Union Minister <\/b><b>inaugurates India\u2019s first ever Animal Health Summit\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published in<\/span><b> PIB <\/b>on<b> 9th July 2022<\/b><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has inaugurated the first India Animal Health Summit 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the India Animal Health Summit 2022?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Organized by: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture(ICFA) and the Agriculture Today Group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To understand the importance of animal health towards the broader objective of the country&#8217;s food and nutrition security, rural incomes and prosperity and overall economic development.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Why is Animal Health important?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nimals and animal products are critical components of the country&#8217;s development in terms of food security, nutrition, and overall sustainability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For instance, India has the world&#8217;s largest cattle population and produces the most milk, yet per-animal productivity remains low.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Low productivity is due to multiple factors, the most important being animal health which has a serious bearing on productivity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zoonotic illnesses have evolved as worldwide health hazards due to the intricate interactions among humans, animals, and the environment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Furthermore, food-borne infections and antimicrobial resistance(AMR) have increased the strain on the country&#8217;s health system and economy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hence, given the re-emergence of old diseases as well as the emergence of new diseases, a call for a comprehensive national animal health strategy is essential.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cUnion Minister inaugurates India\u2019s first ever Animal Health Summit\u201d published in PIB on 9th July 2022 What is the News?
