{"id":196267,"date":"2022-07-19T19:13:14","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T13:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=196267"},"modified":"2022-07-19T19:13:14","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T13:43:14","slug":"panel-on-msp-natural-farming-setup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/panel-on-msp-natural-farming-setup\/","title":{"rendered":"Panel on MSP, Natural Farming setup"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201cPanel on MSP, Natural Farming setup\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>The Hindu <\/b>on<b> 19th July 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Government of India has constituted a committee to look into the issues of minimum support price(MSP), Natural Farming and Crop diversification.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About the Committee on MSP, Natural Farming and Crop diversification<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Headed by: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Former <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agrawal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Terms of Reference of the committee<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>On MSP: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To suggest measures to <strong>a)<\/strong> make MSP available to farmers by making the systems more effective and transparent, <strong>b)<\/strong> give more autonomy to Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The terms of reference do not mention the legal guarantee on MSP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>On Natural Farming:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To make suggestions for programmes and schemes for value chain development, protocol validation and research for future needs and support for area expansion under the Indian Natural Farming System.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>On Crop diversification:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u200b\u200bTo provide suggestions related to crop diversification including <strong>1)<\/strong> mapping of existing cropping patterns of agro-ecological zones of producer and consumer states, <strong>2)<\/strong> strategy for diversification policy to change the cropping pattern according to the changing needs of the country and <strong>3)<\/strong> a system to ensure remunerative prices for the sale of new crops.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cPanel on MSP, Natural Farming setup\u201d published in The Hindu on 19th July 2022.
