NITI Aayog has released the India Innovation Index 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the India Innovation Index?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Prepared by: <\/b>NITI Aayog and the Institute for Competitiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Purpose: <\/b>It is a comprehensive tool for the evaluation and development of the country\u2019s innovation ecosystem. It ranks the states and the union territories on their innovation performance to build healthy competition amongst them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indicators: <\/b>The number of indicators has increased from 36 to 66. These indicators are now distributed across 16 sub-pillars, which, in turn, form seven key pillars\u2014five \u2018Enabler\u2019 pillars measure the inputs and two \u2018Performance\u2019 pillars measure the output.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key rankings of the index?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Karnataka <\/b>topped in the \u2018<\/span>Major States<\/b>\u2019 category.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manipur <\/b>emerged as a winner in the \u2018<\/span>North East and Hill States<\/b>\u2019 category.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
