{"id":197682,"date":"2022-07-28T18:52:49","date_gmt":"2022-07-28T13:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=197682"},"modified":"2022-07-28T18:52:49","modified_gmt":"2022-07-28T13:22:49","slug":"thousands-of-villages-set-to-get-4g-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/thousands-of-villages-set-to-get-4g-coverage\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands of villages set to get 4G coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201cThousands of villages set to get 4G coverage<\/b><b>\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>The Hindu <\/b>on<b> 28th July 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Cabinet has approved a project for the saturation of 4G mobile services in the uncovered villages across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the 4G saturation project across uncovered villages?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under this project, 4G mobile services will be provided in 24,680 uncovered villages in remote and difficult areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project has a provision to include 20% additional villages on account of rehabilitation, new settlements, withdrawal of services by existing operators etc.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to this, 6,279 villages having only 2G or 3G connectivity will be upgraded to 4G under this project.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>Who will execute this project?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project will be executed by BSNL using Atmanirbhar Bharat\u2019s 4G technology stack and will be funded through Universal Service Obligation Fund.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the significance of this project?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is a significant step toward the vision of the Government to provide mobile connectivity in rural areas.
