India and the US will hold the 18th edition of the Exercise “Yudh Abhyas” in Uttarakhand’s Auli.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Exercise Yudh Abhyas?<\/b><\/h5>\n

It is a military exercise between India and the US.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim: <\/b>To enhance understanding, cooperation and interoperability between the armies of India and the US with a number of complex drills being planned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Started in<\/b>: <\/span>The exercise was started in 2004 under the US Army Pacific Partnership Program.<\/span><\/p>\n

The exercise is hosted alternately <\/b>between both countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the other exercises between India and the US?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Exercise Tiger Triumph<\/b>\u2013 It is a tri-service military exercise between India and the US.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exercise Vajra Prahar:<\/b> It is a Special Forces joint military training exercise. It has been conducted alternately in India and the US since 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exercise Cope India: <\/b>It is a series of bilateral Air Force exercises between India and the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

Defence Cooperation between India and US<\/b><\/h5>\n

Relations between India and US have improved since 2016 when the US designated India a “Major Defence Partner”.<\/span><\/p>\n
