What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Goa and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (D&NH and D&D) became the first \u2018Har Ghar Jal\u2019 certified State and UT in the country respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Jal Jeevan Mission-Har Ghar Jal?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Jal Jeevan Mission is a flagship programme of Government of India launched in 2019.<\/p>\n

Aim: <\/b>To make provision of potable tap water supply in adequate quantity, of prescribed quality and on regular & long-term basis to every rural household of the country by 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The program is implemented by the <\/span>Government of India in partnership with States\/UTs.<\/b><\/p>\n

How are States and UTs certified as Har Ghar Jal?<\/b><\/h5>\n

The process of certification has been detailed in the Margdarshika of Jal Jeevan Mission:<\/span><\/p>\n

First, the field engineer submits a completion certificate regarding the water supply scheme to the Panchayat during the Gram Sabha meeting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The villages confirm through a resolution of the Gram Sabha, that every household is getting a regular supply of water of prescribed quality and not a single household is left out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They also confirm that all schools, Anganwadi centres and other public institutions are also getting tap water.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
