Despite this, there seems to be no coordinated national effort for dealing with this viral outbreak.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is Lumpy Skin Disease?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/lumpy-skin-disease-in-cattle\/\"><b>Click Here to read<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<h5><b>What are the steps that need to be taken against Lumpy Skin Disease?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Firstly, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">step up the supply of goat pox and sheep pox vaccines. Since LSD belongs to the same capripoxvirus genus, these vaccines can provide at least partial cross-protection against the former even if that is specific to cattle. At present, only the goat pox vaccine has been approved for administering to cattle against LSD. The same may be extended to sheep pox vaccines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Secondly, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the government must expedite the commercialisation of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/lumpi-provacind-vaccine-how-icars-new-vaccine-against-lumpy-skin-disease-the-viral-infection-killing-indias-cattle-will-work\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICAR\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lumpi-ProVacInd vaccine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It could consider granting emergency use authorisation to enable large-scale production and roll-out, similar to that for Covid vaccines.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Thirdly, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the vaccination should be done on mission mode with the push coming from the top and not the department of animal husbandry and dairying.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cLumpy skin disease is not a normal viral outbreak.
