There are concerns about the appointment of a retired officer as military chief.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>What are the tasks ahead for new CDS?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>First <\/strong>major task of national concern is to manage the Agnipath scheme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second <\/strong>challenge is related to <strong>capacity development<\/strong>. Supply Of arms and ammunition from Russia may get impacted. Defense capacity development under Atma Nirbhar Bharat has not been much successful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Third <\/strong>challenge is to bring focus on <strong>jointness and formation of theatre commands<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fourth <\/strong>challenge is to develop military credentials needed for the rise of India in global affairs.
