{"id":211085,"date":"2022-10-19T19:16:03","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T13:46:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=211085"},"modified":"2022-12-08T14:15:46","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T08:45:46","slug":"pm-reviews-work-in-progress-of-national-maritime-heritage-complex-site-at-lothal-gujarat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/pm-reviews-work-in-progress-of-national-maritime-heritage-complex-site-at-lothal-gujarat\/","title":{"rendered":"PM reviews work in progress of National Maritime Heritage Complex site at Lothal, Gujarat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Source: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post is based on the article<\/span><b> \u201c<\/b><b>PM reviews work in progress of National Maritime Heritage Complex site at Lothal, Gujarat<\/b><b>\u201d <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">published in <\/span><b>PIB <\/b>on<b> 19th October 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is the News?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prime Minister has reviewed the work in progress at the site of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, Gujarat.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About National Maritime Heritage Complex(NHMC)<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">National Maritime Heritage Complex(NHMC) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be developed in Lothal region of Gujarat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It would be developed as an international tourist destination, where the maritime heritage of India from ancient to modern times would be showcased.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The idea is to create an edutainment (education with entertainment) approach for this destination that would be of great interest to the visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is going to cover an area of 400 acres, with structures such as Heritage Theme Park, National Maritime Heritage Museum, Lighthouse Museum, Maritime Institute, eco-resorts, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There will also be many pavilions where all coastal states in India and union territories can showcase their artifacts and maritime heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About Lothal<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lothal was one of the prominent cities of the Harappan civilization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The site is known for the discovery of the oldest man-made dockyard <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which was connected to an old course of the Sabarmati River.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other features include the acropolis, the lower town, the bead factory, the warehouses, and the drainage system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The site has been nominated to be enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cPM reviews work in progress of National Maritime Heritage Complex site at Lothal, Gujarat\u201d published in PIB on 19th October 2022.
