India\u2019s approach towards Africa is guided by the Kampala Principles enunciated by the Prime Minister of India in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first-ever India-Africa <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defence Dialogue(IADD)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in conjunction with DefExpo in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Knowledge Partner: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses(MP-IDSA) is the knowledge partner for the India-Africa Defence Dialogue.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About Second <\/b><b>India-Africa Defence Dialogue(IADD) 2022<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><b>Held at: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gandhinagar, Gujarat\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Theme: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018India-Africa: Adopting Strategy for Synergising and Strengthening Defence and Security Cooperation\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><b>Outcomes of the dialogue<\/b><\/h6>\n<p><b>Gandhinagar Declaration:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Gandhinagar Declaration was adopted as the outcome document of the second edition of the IADD. It charted out new areas for enhancing the India-Africa defence and security partnership.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Fellowship programme: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MP-IDSA will host the Fellowship Programme. The fellowship will give an opportunity to African scholars to pursue research on defence and security issues in India. The fellows would be attached to the MP-IDSA for a period of 1-3 months.
