He was addressing the State Home Minister&#8217;s conference on internal security issues in Faridabad, Haryana.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>What is One Nation one Police Uniform?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One Nation one Police Uniform means <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">having a uniformed attire for police officers across India.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will not only ensure quality products due to the scale at which they\u2019ll be produced but also give a common identity to law enforcement as citizens will recognise police personnel anywhere in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b>About Police Uniforms in States<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Indian Constitution puts police forces under the jurisdiction of state governments, and each of the 28 states have their own police force.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both \u2018<strong>public order\u2019 and the \u2018police<\/strong>\u2019 are placed in List II (<strong>State List<\/strong>) of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution, which deals with the division of powers between the Union and States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>While police personnel in India are often associated with the colour khaki, their uniforms do differ in varying degrees in different regions.<\/p>\n<p>Since state governments and even an individual force can decide the uniform their personnel wear, there are at times inconsistencies in their official attire.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, Kolkata police wear white uniforms, Puducherry Police constables wear bright red caps with their khaki uniforms, Delhi Traffic Police personnel wear white and blue uniforms among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: The post is based on the article \u201cPM Modi moots one nation, one police uniform\u201d published in The Hindu on 29th October 2022 What is the News?
